It has been some time since I have been feeling the need to advocate for the rise in \u2018Business Consciousness\u2019 as a way forward for better times in the journey of humankind. <g class=\"gr_ gr_8 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"8\" data-gr-id=\"8\">While,<\/g> <g class=\"gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"6\" data-gr-id=\"6\">lot<\/g> can be said about the advancements in technology and relative comforts it brings. The question is \u2018are technological advancements making humans, more human\u2019 or are they distancing humankind from the core of humanity; while we ponder on this, I intend to take <g class=\"gr_ gr_7 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"7\" data-gr-id=\"7\">few<\/g> steps forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, I have been pondering as how to bring more\nholistic measures to reinforce increasingly balanced approach in business behaviours\nwith equalized focus on people, planet and profits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this context we envisaged five key areas for determining organizational performance. It is a visionary approach towards long term sustainable growth, by creating products &amp; services that consumers may not even know they want yet or may be a solution to an acute problem that consumers may have considered as beyond resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kapilchhabra.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Picture6-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35548\" width=\"360\" height=\"327\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Market orientation is a culture rather than an individual process, where the entire organization is committed to bringing a positively differentiated and continuously increasing value proposition which is always relevant and that the decisions taken are based on information about customers\u2019 needs and wants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Market orientation is about the capacity to look in to the deep space i.e. the open void that surrounds us and the universe, which is like an infinite canvas for people to draw and enact their imaginations upon and even test them. In business terms it is about looking in to distant horizons i.e. space, for visualizing and envisaging newer and potential future wants or needs, for various newer products \/ service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Market Orientation, depending on the role\/function\/level in an organization, may be evaluated in terms of insights on future markets, synergies with marketplace, innovations and\/or continual improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Customer Centricity<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>[symbolized by the Earth (aka Prithvi) element]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customer centricity is a matter of relative value\nas its about always keeping the customer happy and providing increasingly\nbetter value propositions than any alternatives that may be available to the\ncustomer at any given time and from any competing source. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customer centricity goes beyond just offering great products or services, it implies providing the customer a greater experience from the awareness stage, through the purchasing process and finally through the post-purchase process. In other words, \u201ckeep your eyes on the stars, and have\nhigh dreams and yet keep your feet be on the ground\u201d; as the way for sustained\nsuccess. It is the gravity that pull us towards the earth (i.e.\nthe ground). Equating an organization to a tree, we should remember that deeper\nthe tree-roots higher the tree-crown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, Customer Centricity is to be\nconsidered as the ground (i.e. the earth element) on which Business success\nstand. More rooted the organisation higher it can grow and extend in to the\nparadise of sustainable growth and success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customer Centricity, depending on the role\/function\/level in an organization, may be evaluated in terms of Customer Experience, Customer Satisfaction and\/or Quality of deliverables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Financial Performance <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>[symbolized by the Air (aka Vayu) element]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Financial performance refers to the act of performing\nfinancial activity. In detail, financial performance refers to the degree to\nwhich financial objectives are being or have been accomplished. It is the\nprocess of measuring the results of a firm&#8217;s policies and operations in\nmonetary terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is used to measure <g class=\"gr_ gr_3 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"3\" data-gr-id=\"3\">firm&#8217;s<\/g> overall financial health over a given period of time and can also be used to compare similar firms across the same industry or to compare industries or sectors in aggregation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kapilchhabra.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Picture4-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35550\" width=\"274\" height=\"245\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kapilchhabra.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Picture4-1.png 658w, https:\/\/www.kapilchhabra.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Picture4-1-300x269.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 274px) 100vw, 274px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Air is by far the most obvious element we can equate\nto describe Financial Performance. We breathe Air in and we let it out, and\nthat keeps us alive. It is the most critical element to ensure our survival. Financial\nperformance indicates as how well the organisation will be able to breath. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Financial performance, depending on the role\/function\/level in an organization, may be evaluated in terms of Revenue, Profits and\/or delivered units of products\/services (include volumes of transactions).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Business Systems <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>[symbolized by the Water (aka Jal) element]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A business system is a combination of policies, procedures,\nprocesses, methods, and\/or course of action designed to achieve a specific\nresult. Business system decides how data must be handled and is methodically\nprocessed. It also controls the procedures of the processed data and the\nresults to be displayed. Creating effective business systems is the only way to\nattain results that are consistent, measurable, and ultimately benefit\ncustomers.<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Business Systems are like the main bloodstream for any business. It is that critical aspect on which the operational effectiveness and growth of businesses <g class=\"gr_ gr_7 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace\" id=\"7\" data-gr-id=\"7\">depends<\/g>. Water constitutes approximately 80% of blood units. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Business Systems when integrated efficiently act as <g class=\"gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace\" id=\"6\" data-gr-id=\"6\">the reliable<\/g> information pipeline for the organization and its Employees to evidently bring out effective results. Diligent and persistent business systems, over a period of time will take\nthe form of a powerful river which will slowly gain the momentum<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Business Systems, depending on the role\/function\/level in an organization, may be evaluated in terms of Operations Governance, Customer Relationship Management, Management Systems and\/or simply the Adherence to systems\/processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Organizational Development <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>[symbolized by the Fire (aka Agni) element]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizational Development is a journey of\nlearning and growing; a planned organization wide intervention championed from\nthe top to increase organization health and effectiveness. Organizational\nDevelopment adds dynamism and energy to whole process of organizational\nevolution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kapilchhabra.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/PictureE5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35541\" width=\"389\" height=\"283\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p> Organizational Development activities, to me, are a form of potent energy (akin to fire) in a living organism impacting the 3 primary constitutes Mind (capabilities \u2013 people), Body (<g class=\"gr_ gr_5 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"5\" data-gr-id=\"5\">organisation<\/g> \u2013 profits), and Spirit (society \u2013 planet). It is the balance of these 3 constituents that <g class=\"gr_ gr_10 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Grammar multiReplace\" id=\"10\" data-gr-id=\"10\">provides<\/g> the <g class=\"gr_ gr_27 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"27\" data-gr-id=\"27\">vigour<\/g> for a lively organization which is learning, adapting and growing in a sustainable manner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizational Development, depending on the role\/function\/level in an organization, may be evaluated based on organizational climate, organizational culture, increasing capacity and capability, and\/or people development and engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>To sum it up<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The journey of <g class=\"gr_ gr_5 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"5\" data-gr-id=\"5\">evolution<\/g> of an organization is quite akin to <g class=\"gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"6\" data-gr-id=\"6\">evolution<\/g> of life and humans as a <g class=\"gr_ gr_4 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace\" id=\"4\" data-gr-id=\"4\">specie<\/g>.&nbsp; <g class=\"gr_ gr_8 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"8\" data-gr-id=\"8\">First<\/g> everything was \u2018space\u2019, in space came the \u2018earth\u2019 (planet) on which human could exist, and then the right atmosphere i.e. \u2018air\u2019 got created which made the earth inhabitable, then water provided sustainability to the life forms and the civilization prospered with the advent of fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Priority of a perspective or a focus area is dependent on the current maturity (or the organisation evolution phase or the marketplace dynamics) status of a given organization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:12px;text-align:center\" class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">Solutions\nfor Healthy Organizational Growth &amp; Human Potential Maximization.
